every day

and every night,

the sun and the moon

perform their dances

that were made

for each other.

they show off

their prettiest colors

and their brightest

of lights.

sometimes,

they are vulnerable

with each other.

they ask

their friends in the sky,

to help paint a picture

of their emotions.

with colors that

don’t say a single word,

but yet,

say everything.

sometimes,

they are shy

and they hide behind

a blanket of clouds,

yearning for the other,

to blow the clouds away,

to come just a little bit

closer.

sometimes,

the moon can’t wait

another second

to see the sun.

and so she comes out,

early enough for them

to dance together.

their love is forbidden,

like the kind

the poets

talk about

but what they don’t realize,

is that their love

and their light,

is the love that

we dream about.

the love that

we write about.

the love that

we can never

get enough of.
